About Ken Page well-known to the patrons of Toronto's Montreal Bistro and Jazz Club as a man who never missed a featured piano maestro, Ken always sat at his favourite front table, eyes - and ears - firmly fixed on the keyboard and the hands of whichever visiting jazz idol was there that week making the music that was his passion. Ken Page was a man with friends all over the world, many who knew and respected him throughout a long and distinguished career in the television industry, but at least as many who admired him on a more personal level, sharing his love of people, life, and always music until he passed away at the age of 69 in 1998.
Born in England, he emigrated to Canada to join the growing television business, later relocating to Switzerland, then London, and Los Angeles before returning to Toronto where he spent the final three years of his life. He was one of the most beloved executives in the global television industry, having held key positions including President Worldwide Television Distribution and Executive Vice President of Lorimar Productions and before that, Executive Vice President, Columbia Pictures Television where he was responsible for Columbia's U.S. and international television distribution activities. |
